To provide a method for absorbing electromagnetic wave by which the constitution of an electromagnetic wave absorber can be simplified and weight of the absorber can be reduced, and then, the absorber can be enabled to absorb electromagnetic waves arriving from different directions by easily generating an electromagnetic wave absorbing function at a desired spot.
The electronic wave absorber is constituted in such a way that a resistance film 16 which reflects part of arriving electromagnetic waves and transmits the other part of the waves is formed on one surface of a plate- like insulating substrate 12 and a reflecting film 18 which reflects the arriving waves is formed on one surface of another plate-like insulating substrate 14 which is arranged in parallel with the substrate 12 at an interval. Then split conductor sections 20 which are composed of a plurality of conductors arranged at intervals in a direction crossing the arranging direction of the resistance film 16 and reflecting film 18 are formed on the other surface of the insulating substrate 14 so that the sections 20 may be positioned between the resistance film 16 and reflecting film 18.
