To provide an electromagnetic wave shielding fabric woven in completely the same manner as a conventional fabric so as to having larger electromagnetic wave shielding performance by enlarging the surface ratio of a metal wire material and an electroconductive carbon fiber exposed to the surface as much as possible.
A mixed fiber 2 constituting the electromagnetic wave shielding fabric 6 is formed by Z twist (4a) and S twist (4b) of a stainless steel wire material 4 having 80 μm thickness in a bundle 3 of two or more polyester fibers and a carbon fiber 7 is used as a weft yarn. The stainless steel wire material 4 has good stretchability as it is twisted around a nylon fiber 3 having a required size and the formed mixed fiber 2 has sufficient strength and flexibility, so the mixed fiber can be woven by a conventional loom. The measured shielding performance of the electromagnetic wave shielding fabric 6 shows ≥60 dB in a wide frequency range of 0.1 MHz to 1 GHz and ≥70 dB in a frequency range of 0.1 MHz to about 40 MHz.
