Abstract:
To provide an eletromagnetically held brake having less remaining magnetism for generating required braking force.
The electromagnetically held brake comprises a switchable electromagnet 4 for holding a movable sheet 6 at a predetermined position. Besides, the brake has a second fixed sheet 5 arranged substantially parallel to the movable sheet 6. As a result, when a current is switched on, the movable sheet 6 is clamped between the electromagnet 4 and the second sheet 5.
