Title:
ELECTRON BEAM COOLING DEVICE, ION STORAGE RING WITH THE SAME AND ION SYNCHROTRON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3720968
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a superconductive solenoid coil having large magnetic field on an electron beam incidence section with a large degree of freedom without being limited by an installation space and to generate an electron beam having a small spread of momentum.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with an electron beam incidence section 1 constituted of an electron gun 2 and an accelerating tube 3 and feeding a uniform-speed electron beam 4 to an ion ring, toroid sections 6, 10 bending the electron beam 4 fed into the ion ring and outgoing from it, a central section 8 passing the electron beam 4 and an ion beam 9 in parallel and cooling the ion beam 9, an electron beam recovery section 12 recovering the electron beam 4, a coolant tank 19 storing a coolant and a contact heat transfer means 26 cooling the superconductive solenoid coil 17 via the contact heat transfer from the coolant tank 19.
