Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a curable composition composed of a specified pyridinium salt and a cation-polymerizable compound, free from generation of bad odor, capable of electron beam cure in a short time for production of a cured material excellent in physical properties and suitable for a coating material, an adhesive, an ink, etc. CONSTITUTION:(A) One or more kinds of pyridinium salt compounds represented by the formula [R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano, vinyl, carbamoyl, (substituted)phenyl, (substituted)benzyl, carboxyl, etc.; R<3> is H, alkyl, (substituted)phenyl, etc.; R<4> and R<5> are of same kind as R<1>; X is SbF6, AsF6, PF6 or BF4] is blended with (B) a cation-polymerizable compound (e.g. n-butyl vinyl ether) to obtain the objective electron beam curable composition. In addition, a cured coating film can be obtained by applying the above-obtained composition to a tin-plate, etc., using a doctor blade, etc., and applying an electron beam thereto with a radiation dose of 30Mrad under 175KV accelerating voltage.
