Abstract:
To suppress an inrush current at a start of driving.SOLUTION: An electron emitting apparatus 1 for emitting electrons from a second electrode 12 by applying a drive voltage signal between a first electrode 11 and the second electrode against an electron-emitting device having the first electrode, the second electrode, and an intermediate layer 13 stacked between the first electrode and the second electrode, includes drive means for gradually raising the drive voltage signal at a start of driving of the electron emitting device. The drive voltage signal is a pulse train signal. The drive means raises a peak value of the pulse train signal stepwise at the start of the driving.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
