Abstract:
To provide an electron emission element having a novel configuration capable of improving electron emission characteristics of the electron emission element.SOLUTION: An electron emission element 1 includes a first electrode 2, a second electrode 6, an insulating layer 3, and an intermediate layer 5 formed in an opening 4 of the insulating layer 3, and electrons are emitted from the second electrode 6 by applying a voltage between the first electrode 2 and the second electrode 6, and the intermediate layer 5 contains conductive fine particles 5b and substantially needle-like insulating fine particles 5a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
