Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure, to facilitate adjustment, and to reduce power consumption by arranging a pair of convergence electrodes each sandwiching a side beam, in a focusing electrode.
CONSTITUTION: On the outside of both side beams 13, 15, first convergence electrodes 200a and 200b arranged in parallel to the beams are conducted to a G4 side G3 electrode 4b. On the inside of the both beams 13, 15, second convergence electrodes 201a, 201b are conducted to a G2 side G3 electrode 4a. Three electron beams can be just-focused without deformation over the entire region of a face plate without using a dynamic convergence device while adjustment is facilitated, and power consumption is reduced by applying d.c. voltage to the electrode 4a, and by applying the voltage on which the a.c. voltage synchronizing with deflecting current is superimposed for the electrode 4b.
