Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent distortion when making the negative electrode smaller of an electron beam spot in an electron gun provided with an electric field emission negative electrode.
SOLUTION: The negative electrode 15 is that which is provided with an electron discharge electrode 18 installed on a substrate 16, a draw-out electrode 19 to form an electric field between the electron emission electrode 18, and a terminal 20 and a conductor wire 21 in order to apply voltage to the electron discharge electrode 18 and the draw-out electrode 19 respectively, and a shield electrode 5 is further arranged between the negative electrode 15 and the control electrode 6, and the shield electrode 5 has a cylindrical protruding part 10 into which the electron beam passes and which protrudes in the direction of the negative electrode 15.
