PURPOSE: To form an electron source, which can form the even elements and which can evenly discharge the electron, and to form an image forming device, which can display with the even luminance.

CONSTITUTION: Electron discharging elements arranged in lines on a substrate is divided into three groups of A, B, C, and connected to each other per a group by common wirings 902A, B, C. These wirings are laminated per a group with an insulating layer 908 between them, and each element is driven by a difference of the electric potential applied to the wirings 902A, B, C and the wiring 903. Since each group is formed of the elements at 1/3 of one line, even in the case where voltage is applied from the end of the wiring, lowering of the voltage due to the resistance is small, and unevenness between each element is small at the time of forming and at the time of discharging electron. In the case where an image is formed by discharging electron, unevenness of the luminance due to the unevenness of the surface conduction type electron discharging elements is reduced, and the even display is enabled.
