Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release stop of function having once stopped on the basis of external signed data.
SOLUTION: The control method includes: a step S77 of receiving a verification value signed by a center and giving it to a signature verification section 24, which verifies the correctness of the signature; steps S78 to S80 of comparing the received verification value with a verification value in a verification value storage section 21 to inspect whether or not both are coincident when the signature is correct; steps S81 and S82 of shifting a mode of a control section from a stop mode to an ordinary mode when coincident and returning a message of a 'function resume' to an image processing apparatus 11; a step S83 of returning a message denoting 'incorrect signature' to the image processing apparatus 11 and terminating the processing when the signature is not correct in the step S78; and a step S84 of returning a message representing 'incorrect verification value' to the information processing apparatus 11 and terminating the processing when the verification values are dissident in the step S80.
