To detect a static human body more properly by a pyroelectric infrared sensor in an electronic apparatus, such as an image forming apparatus, to provide an optimal operation environment for the human body detected.
An image forming apparatus 1 includes: an operation part 47; a sensor part 50 having a pyroelectric infrared sensor 501; a swing mechanism 60 for turning the sensor part 50 in a first direction and a second direction orthogonal thereto; a drive part 80 for turning the operation part 47 in the first and second directions; a control part 100 for controlling operation of the swing mechanism 60 and the drive part 80; and a detection position acquisition part 101 which acquires an object detection position detected by the sensor part 50 turning in the first direction and an object height position detected in turning in the second direction. The control part 100 controls the drive part 80 to turn the operation part 47 toward a direction indicated by the object detection position and the object height position.
