An electronic apparatus includes display means of which luminance changes, contact area detection means for detecting a contact area on a touch panel which is contacted by the finger or hand of a user, movement direction detection means for detecting the movement direction of the finger or hand of the user, luminance change amount calculation means for calculating a change amount of luminance of the display means from the contact area and the movement direction, and luminance control means for controlling the luminance of the display means based on the change amount of luminance.
