To make a user promptly and certainly specify a desired color while connectedly confirming according to the user's desire by providing scroll bars and specifying a lightness and a color or the like by these scroll bars.

In a color mode, the 1st scroll bar 8 and a 1st cursor 9, and the 2nd scroll bar 10 and a 2nd cursor 11 are displayed, and a variable-color pallet 7 is displayed between these scroll bars 8 and 10. In the 1st scroll bar 8, high saturation is assigned to the upper part and low saturation is assigned to the lower part. The saturation of the variable-color pallet 7 is to be the saturation specified by the 1st cursor 9, and a character and graphic or the like inputted following to that are to be the same saturation as the variable- color pallet 7. On the other hand, in the 2nd scroll bar 10, the right part is assigned to light, and the left part is assigned to shape. The lightness of the variable-color pallet 7 is to be the lightness of the density specified by the 2nd cursor 11, and the character and graphic or the like inputted following to that are to be the lightness of the same density as the variable-color pallet 7. Thus, a saturation and a lightness of color are easily set by the scroll bars 8 and 10.
