To provide an electronic azimuth device that is usable for a portable information terminal used for walking navigation or the like, capable of suppressing incorrect azimuth output caused by the disturbance magnetic field in a walking environment, and preventing the portable information terminal from generating a direction instruction puzzling to a user, and improving the reliability of the device, and to provide a recording medium used for the electronic azimuth device.
A constitution and a means are used, wherein attitude change in the horizontal direction of the portable information terminal is detected by utilizing data from a biaxial inclination sensor, and an azimuth change and the attitude change calculated by a magnetometric sensor and the inclination sensor are compared with each other, and an azimuth determination invalidation signal, for showing that the azimuth calculation is invalid when the azimuth change and the attitude change do not agree with each other, is outputted.
