PURPOSE:To synthesize and record the format picture of a definite form and a picture that said picture is retouched newly by lighting a complementary color fluorescent lamp to emit the light of a color in the relation of a complementary color with a drop-out color, and reading the format picture by said light. CONSTITUTION:In a case that the read of only the format picture 30 printed by the drop-out color is performed, the complementary color fluorescent lamp 31 is lighted, and said format picture 30 is sorted in an image memory circuit 32 for format from a control circuit 18 through a reading sensor 17. In the case that the retouched picture and the format picture 30 stored in the memory circuit 32 for format are synthesized and recorded, only a fluorescent lamp 13 is lighted, and after picture data is written in an image memory circuit 19, it is read, and simultaneously, the format picture 30 having been stored is read out from the image memory circuit 32 for format, and those are synthesized and sent to the control circuit 18.
