PURPOSE: To prevent an electronic circuit from becoming complicated and its cost-up by recording a figure and character drawn on a writing medium on the same screen while said medium is wound or rewound.

CONSTITUTION: When the 2nd page, for instance, is specified through a page specifying key 15, a writing medium 1 is shifted and the 2nd page appears. Then a page number display part 14 displays the 2nd page and draws a figure and character on the 2nd page writing medium 1. When the number of copied sheets is specified through a copy number specifying key 19, the number is displayed on a copy number display part 18. When a copy key 16 is depressed, the same screen is recorded by the prescribed number. At this time the odd-numbered one is read out and recorded by an optical reading means 9 while the writing medium 1 is wound to the side of a holding means 2. The even-numbered one is read out and recorded by the optical reading means 9 while the writing medium is wound to a holding means 3.
