PURPOSE: To make automatic the travel of the book stand for word processors by providing a guide number travel mechanism, and a mechanism for the travel of an arrow on the guide number to calculate the amount of travel of the guide number and the arrow from a character code to be input.

CONSTITUTION: A book stand and a word processor are connected to a connector terminal 22. A guide number fixing base 12 and an arrow 16 are set with the operation of a travel button 23. Spaces between lines and spaces between characters are set one by one respectively with a pitch setting lever. Inputting characters into the word processor in this state, established character codes are input to the body from the terminal 22. Based on this input, pitch between characters are calculated to drive a motor 18 for moving the arrow 16. When changing lines, a motor 19 is driven to move the guide number fixing base 12.
