To provide an electronic breaker which ensures current-carrying/breaking performance compliant with the regulation and can supply maximum electric power according to a rated capacity with stability.
The electronic breaker 1 is formed by adding a current detection circuit 22, a breaking circuit 23 and a control circuit 30 to a breaker that receives operation energy from a current fed to a load and thereby performs overcurrent protection. The control circuit 30 has a data table 32 on which at least one overload determination threshold set in a current region higher than the rated current and overload determination time are stored in association with each other. The control circuit 30 is thus configured so that times at which the value of current fed to the load becomes equal to or greater than the overload determination threshold are measured individually for each of the overload determination thresholds. If the time measurement value for any of the overload determination thresholds has reached the overload determination time, the control circuit 30 determines that this is an overload, and breaks the passage of current.
