To provide an electronic camera capable of executing more efficient printing and saving power by recognizing a state of a camera driving power supply and limiting a printing function in accordance with the recognized state.
The electronic camera 1 is provided with a power supply recognizing/judging means 10 for recognizing and judging a state of a power supply for driving the camera 1 and a hierarchical menu operation means constituted of combining a display means 7 for displaying operation menus for operating the camera 1 and execution command means 26 to 28 for selecting and executing a required command out of the contents of operation menus displayed on the means 7 and capable of hierarchically displaying the operation menus and selecting and executing the required command. A printing execution command requiring long time out of respective printing execution commands corresponding to plural different printing formats is arranged in a deep hierarchical menu, a printing execution command requiring short printing time is arranged in a shallow hierarchical menu, and when the means 10 judges the difficulty of printing execution, deeper hierarchical menus are not displayed and printing execution commands arranged in these menus are inhibited.
