Abstract:

PURPOSE: To limit an unnecessary torque transmission amount to an output member from an input member by disposing a bypass means, feeding viscous fluid directly to a pump means around a transmission mechanism, to the interior of a torque transmission member.
CONSTITUTION: A rotor being a transmission member securely located to the one end of an input shaft is disposed in a working space 20. A radially extending groove 35 is formed in a rotor 30, and a bypass passage 36 for intercommunicating the labyrinth mechanism 32b side in the working space 20 and the groove 35 and a bypass passage 37 for intercommunicating a labyrinth mechanism 32a side in the working space 20 and the groove 35 are formed. An on-off member 38 slid in an axial direction and having a bypass passage 38a is disposed in the groove 35. Through the force of a spring 39, the on-off member 38 is energized so as to disturb communication between the bypass passages 36 and 37. When the number of revolutions of the rotor 30 is increased, the spring 39 is contracted by means of a centrifugal force exerted on the on-off member 38. When viscous fluid flows through the bypass passages 36 and 38a, and 37 to the space 20, the number of revolutions is reduced.
