An electronic circuit breaker includes a make/break contact 2 which opens and closes an electric path 1, a trip device 9 which opens the make/break contact 2, a current detection circuit 4 which detects the current of the electric path 1, a characteristics setting section 7 which sets the overcurrent trip characteristics in order to open the make/break contact 2 according to the overcurrent flowing through the electric path 1, a controller 8 which outputs a trip signal to the trip device 9 based on the overcurrent trip characteristics and the detection current from the current detection circuit 4, a conduction time measuring section 10 which clocks the duration of conduction according to the detection current, and a maximum conduction time memory 11 which stores the maximum duration of conduction measured at the conduction time measuring section 10 according to the detection current.
