Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance the hermetic seal performance between a transparent glass and a tubular body by fitting the transparent glass in the opening of a bottomed tubular body such that an elastic body for sustaining hermetic seal is pressed and then retaining the glass by means of bent claws.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent glass 4 is fitted in the upper opening of a bottomed tubular metal body 1 for containing an electronic circuit 2 while pressing an O-ring (elastic body for sustaining hermetic seal) placed on a stepped surface 1a formed at a part of the inner circumferential surface of the tubular body 1. Claws 1b formed around the opening of the tubular body 1 are then bent to secure the glass 4 to the tubular body 1 and then it is coated with a protective frame body made of a synthetic resin, for example. This structure enhances hermetic seal between the glass 4 and a signal terminal 5 and between the glass 4 and the tubular body 1. Furthermore, since the number of sealing points is decreased, intrusion of moisture into a hermetically sealed vessel is prevented thus enhancing the reliability of electronic device.
