Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic watch that can automatically display local time and is reducible in power consumption and easily made compact, and a control method of the electronic watch.SOLUTION: A wristwatch 100 with GPS includes a GPS reception circuit 30, an external operation part 70, a reception control part 42, an automatic reception setting part 43 which makes automatic reception effective/ineffective based upon input operation at the external operation part 70, a reception mode setting part 44 which can set one of a time measurement mode and a position measurement mode as a reception mode, and a time information correction part 45. The reception mode setting part 44 sets the position measurement mode when the automatic reception is made effective again after being made ineffective by the input operation at the external operation part 70, and sets the time measurement mode when a certain condition is met after the automatic reception is performed while the position measurement mode is set. The reception control part 42 places the GPS reception circuit 30 in operation to perform automatic reception processing in the reception mode set by the reception mode setting part 44 when an automatic reception condition is met.
