To provide an electronic component wherein a movable body can be locked at a desired position when moving it.
In a slide type switch 1 equipped with a sliding object (movable body) 20 installed in a case 10 so that it can freely slides and moves, an electric functional part the electric output of which varies by the sliding movement of the sliding object 20, and an elastic contact member 15 which is engaged with engagement parts 22, 23, 24 provided in the sliding object 20 one by one to lock the sliding object 20 at respective engagement positions when the sliding object 20 slides and moves, the elastic contact member 15 is formed into a shape having an elastic arm part 16 composed of a linear body part 16b and connecting parts 16a, 16a connected to the case 10 by protruding from the end part of the body part 16b toward the side of its longitudinal direction, and a protruded part 17 formed by making the intermediate part of the body part 16b protrude toward the sliding object 20, and the elastic contact part 15 is thereby made to generate proper elastic contact force.
