To provide an electronic control apparatus capable of specifying a dead band region of each operating condition based on a learned dead band region of a driving hydraulic valve when the dead band region is learned once under any operating condition, even when there is a fluctuation of the operating condition such as a temperature of the dead band region.
The electronic control apparatus 8 is for controlling the driving hydraulic valve 73 of a variable valve mechanism 6 that varies the operation of valves 23, 24 of an internal combustion engine. The electronic control apparatus 8 is equipped with: a storage part for storing a learning value of the dead band region in which responsiveness of the driving hydraulic valve 73 to a control value is remarkably late compared with another region or is hardly responsive, and the operating condition upon learning; and a control part for correcting the stored dead band region based a compared result of the operating condition upon controlling the driving hydraulic valve 73 and the stored operating condition, and controlling the driving hydraulic valve 73 based on the corrected dead band region.
