Title:
ELECTRONIC CONTROL SUSPENSION DEVICE AND DAMPING FORCE CONTROL METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005153875
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an electronic suspension device capable of providing further improved ride quality and travel stability by adjusting a damping force of a variable shock absorber in response to the vertical speed of a vehicle body and a relative speed of a damper, and to provide a damping force control method.

The electronic control suspension device is mounted between the vehicle body and an axle and has the variable shock absorber having an actuator. The electronic control suspension device comprises a first sensor means for detecting the vertical acceleration of the vehicle body, a second sensor means for detecting the vertical movement of the vehicle body with respect to the axle, and a controller that determines a vertical speed of the vehicle body using the vertical acceleration of the vehicle body detected by the first sensor means, determines a relative speed of the damper by differentiating the movement of the vertical direction of the vehicle body detected by the second sensor means, determines a target damping force using the vertical speed of the vehicle body and the relative speed of the damper, and determines a control command value based on the target damping force. The control command value is transmitted to the actuator and changes a damping characteristic of the variable shock absorber.
