In a communication method of electronic devices, each electronic device is each provided with a display panel having a display element and a light-receiving element for each pixel, and optical communication is performed between a transmitter side electronic device and a receiver side electronic device. In this communication method, a communication frame is set inside an area actually facing in an display panel of each of the transmitter side electronic device and the receiver side electronic device which are arranged oppositely or closely, and the optical communication is performed via the display element of the display panel of the transmitter side electronic device and the light-receiving element of the display panel of the receiver side electronic device, with each of the elements being in the set communication frame.
