PURPOSE: To obtain an electronic device for driving a safety system having a series circuit of an ignition device and a capacitor which circuit is simply and easily inspected.
CONSTITUTION: An electronic device 1 for driving a safety system 18 for automobile passengers has a series circuit of a capacitor C1 and an ignition powder ZP. The electronic device 1 has a charge-discharge device 2 for the capacitor and a measuring device 14 for measuring the voltage applied to the igntion powder ZP. After the capacitor is fully charged, electric discharge is made to occur and the resistance of the ignition powder of the ignition circuit is estimated according to the discharge characteristics. After the capacitor is fully discharged, the capacitor is charged and the capacitance of the capacitor is estimated according to the charge characteristics.
