To provide an electronic device equipped with a clock circuit, where adjusting itself of the clock circuit or readjusting for temperature change after adjustment is easy.
The oscillation frequency of a clock circuit 12 is detected with a CPU1. If the oscillation frequency is in such range as can be said to be equal to a reference frequency 128 Hz, "normal" is displayed on a display part 9. If the oscillation frequency is not equal to the reference frequency but lies outside the range for adjusting with a capacitor trimmer 12c, a thermistor 13 detects the current temperature and compares it to a reference temperature, for deciding adjusting direction of a resistor trimmer 12b. The resistor trimmer 12b is adjusted to make the oscillation frequency approach the reference frequency 128 Hz. If the oscillation frequency approaches the reference frequency as the resistor trimmer 12b to the extent that it is unable to adjust it, the capacitor trimmer 12c carries out fine tuning so that the oscillation frequency becomes equal to the reference frequency. If the frequencies become equal, "calibration completed" is displayed on the display part 9.
