To provide electronic equipment and an operation help presenting method enabling a user to learn other operating methods while actually using a function by a certain operating method.

History of operating methods is stored, and whether the current operating method is the same as the past operating method is determined from history information. When it is the same, another operating method is displayed in a help display section 20. Consequently, when the user operates in the same method as the operating method carried out in the past in executing a facility retrieval function of a navigation device, the other operating method different from the method is dynamically presented as help. The user can thereby learn the operating methods of a plurality of patterns while actually carrying out operation.
