PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of displaying map with efficient provision of information.SOLUTION: When a background region 132 such as a sea, a mountain forest, a lakeshore or a river exceeds a fixed display area, an on-vehicle device 10 determines that the background region 132 is a display unnecessary area. When determined to be a display unnecessary area, two-dimensional display of a road map is changed into such overhead view display as looking down a point D showing bending of a road R3.
