Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of individually managing consumables without a storage device for the consumables to be used by electronic devices.SOLUTION: A plurality of electronic devices communicable with each other use consumables, and unique identification information is recorded on the consumables as invisible information which can be optically read. The electronic device is provided with a reading unit for optically reading the identification information from the consumables, a storage unit for storing the read identification information, an inquiring unit for inquiring the other electronic device whether the read identification information has already been stored or not, and a processing unit for carrying out a predetermined process when the identification information read by the other electronic device has already been stored.
