To provide an electronic endoscope system for displaying information on color of a measurement point on an image on the basis of a position relation between an electronic scope and a measurement point on an observed body.
The electronic endoscope system is provided with an electronic scope having an imaging device for picking up an image of the observed body, an image processor for performing image processing to image data acquired by the electronic scope, and a display means for displaying an image based on the image data to which the image processing has been applied. The image processor determines on the basis of the position relation between the measurement point on the observed body and the electronic scope whether or not the color of the measurement point can be precisely picked up. When it is possible to precisely pick up an image of the color of the measurement point, a display means displays the information on the color of the measurement point on the image corresponding to the measurement point.
