Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve handling by sharing a device, to which a full picture element reading system is adopted for reading out all the picture elements provided from an imaging device through one time exposure, with a conventional device.
SOLUTION: Concerning video signals provided from a CCD 15 through one time of exposure within the period of 1/60sec, signals on odd-numbered lines are read out during the next period and further, signals on even-numbered lines are read out during the next period. The data of these odd-numbered and even-numbered data are stored in 1st and 2nd memories 22 and 23. The data of even-numbered lines can be read out by shielding incident light. Besides, a mixer circuit 24 adopts the full picture element reading system for forming field images by reading out the pixel data on odd-numbered and even-numbered lines while mixing them. Then, a light unit is provided with a switching means for switching the use of a light chopper 36, and a full picture element system electronic endoscope and a conventional reading system electronic endoscope can be discriminated from identification information and connected to respective devices.
