PURPOSE: To enable setting to use a type of image, especially in terms of a color shade and tone, matching the taste of a user by memorising plural sets of color shade and tone for different users to read out and reproduce from a memory circuit, at need.

CONSTITUTION: A certain adustment is carried out for individual users to memorise respective values of the image adjusted to match the tase of respective users in a memory circuit 21. When an electric endoscope is used, out of R, G, B, containg signal level adjustment values and making circuit adjustment values memorised in the memory circuit 21, respective adjustment values matiching the taste of a corresponding user are read out, and then the read-out data is sent to a signal processing circuit 11 to reproduce the desired preset state. With this system, preparation work right before operation fo respective users is made simpler and easier.
