Abstract:

To solve the problem that in the conventional cellular phone, it sometimes takes a lot of trouble with character input work because a kanji and a phrase unknown to a user are sometimes included in a conversion candidate displayed by a predictive conversion function when a character is input.

A control part 1, when reading printed in Japanese syllabary is input, displays the reading printed in Japanese syllabary on a mail preparation screen, and performs predictive conversion processing with reference to a normal dictionary (S11 and S12), then compares a predicted conversion candidate with definition information stored in a selection type dictionary (S14), displays a read kanji as it is in a conversion candidate displaying part 12 when the kanji included in the conversion candidate is defined by the selected selection type dictionary (S15, and referred to Fig.5(a)), and displays the reading printed in Japanese syllabary as it is in the conversion candidate displaying part 12 by a display character regulating means when the kanji is not defined by the selected selection type dictionary (S15, and referred to Fig.5(b)).
