To eliminate the possibility of the user caught by a card or a card reader by forming a recessed part hollowed more than a length of an exposed part of the card when the card is normally inserted and providing a card insert port in face with the recessed part, thereby avoiding the card or card reader from being projected externally.
A recessed part 40 for an extraction space used to extract a card by nipping an end of the card from both upper and lower sides is provided from a lower half 35a, an upper half 35b of a side plate 35 of a front side of a front case 30 of this electronic equipment 10, such as a public telephone set toward an upper plate 31. That is, the recessed part 40 is made up of a flat bottom wall 40a along a rear opening 30a from a lower end of the lower half 35a of the side plate 35, a depth wall 40b in a direction perpendicular to a bottom plate 22 of a rear case 20 and both side walls 40c. Thus, the card reader 52 and the card inserted in the card reader 52 are not projected externally from a case plane, and it is prevented for the user to receive a damage resulting from an event of the user being caught by the card or the card reader or the user drops off the electronic equipment 10.
