To improve the efficiency of communication by shortening communication intervals in communication and to improve reliability by simplifying communication processing by removing conventional BUSY processing in an electronic equipment system by which interactive communication is performed between an electronic equipment main body and an accessory.

In the electronic equipment system, communication is started at the communication intervals of a prescribed primary value with which reliable communication is possible between electronic equipment and the accessory, information at minimum communication intervals with which the accessory can communicate is communicated during communication at the communication intervals of the primary value, the electronic equipment main body communicates at communication intervals equal to or longer than the minimum communication intervals with which the accessory can communicate, which are obtained by the communication.
