To provide electronic equipment and a television for preventing dust and any foreign matter other than a PC card such as a coin from entering a card insertion path by simple configurations.

An insertion port 21 into which a PC card 3 is inserted is provided with a cover part for closing the insertion port 21 while the PC card 3 is not inserted and a lock means 5 for locking the cover part 4. The lock means 5 is configured of a pair of lock pieces 5a and 5b, and the lock pieces 5a and 5b are configured of protruding parts 51a and 51b protruding from the side end of the front face of the cover part 4 to the outside of a casing 17; and pressurizing parts 52a and 52b for locking the cover part 4 by pressurizing the back face of the cover part 4. The lock means 5 is configured so that when the protruding parts 51a and 51b of the pair of the lock pieces 5a and 5b are pressurized together when the PC card 3 is inserted from the insertion port 21 into the card insertion path 22, so that the lock of the cover part 4 by the pressurizing parts 52a and 52b for pressurizing the back face of the cover part 4 can be released.
