Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which detects connection abnormality and informs an operator thereof and thereby ensures that the operator becomes aware of the state of connection abnormality.SOLUTION: A tape printing device 100 includes an AC adaptor 34, a DC jack 33 to be connected to a DC plug 34E, a load 9 and a constant-voltage circuit 47 to which power is supplied through the DC jack 33, a battery 38, and a break contact 33C. The break contact 33C is switched to a first state in which a positive electrode side of the battery 38 and the constant-voltage circuit 47 are in a conducting state when the DC plug 34E is not connected to the DC jack 33, and the break contact 33C is switched to a second state in which the positive electrode side of the battery 38 and the constant-voltage circuit 47 are not in a conducting state when the DC plug 34E is connected to the DC jack 33. When the break contact 33C is switched to the second state and a connection abnormality state in which power necessary for the constant-voltage circuit 47 or the load 39 is not supplied from the AC adaptor 34, is detected, a report about the detection is made on a liquid crystal display 9.
