A power consumption measuring part 70 measures the power consumption integrated value of a battery pack 18. An environmental information memory 72 stores respective already determined environmental loads in raw material manufacturing, in assembly manufacturing, in transportation and in disposal and an environmental load in use to be calculated based on the power consumption integrated value. A main CPU 56 monitors an amount of environmental tax for all environment loads by referring to a charging information memory 74. The environmental tax is not imposed until all the environmental loads reach the first threshold. When the whole environmental loads have reached the first threshold, the amount of environmental tax is displayed on an LCD 20 just after a power source is turned on, and the extraction of a memory card 19 is inhibited while photographing is allowed. When all the environmental loads have reached the next threshold, photographing is also inhibited. When all the environmental loads have reached the next threshold, only the ON/OFF of the power source is allowed, and all the other functions are disabled. Thus, function limitation is released after charging processing is completed.
