PURPOSE: To provide an electronic exchange which can securely and speedily send remaining messages even when a terminal in a call state encounters a line fault as to an electronic exchange to which a voice mail device is connected.

CONSTITUTION: The electronic exchange 100 is provided with a line fault detection part 110, a voice mail device connection part 120, a telephone number detection part 130, and a terminal calling part 140. If a line fault detection part 110 detects a fault of a line L while the terminal T makes a call, the terminal T connected to a normal line L is connects to the voice mail device 200 to record a message by the voice mail device connection device 120, and the telephone number detection part 130 detects the telephone number of an opposite terminal T and stores if as an address together with the message. When the line fault detection part 110 detects the recovery of the line L from the fault, the terminal call part 140 calls the terminal T having the stored telephone number by the voice mail device 200 to send the message out.
