To provide an electronic fuel injection type engine enabling to use an existing engine components to reduce NOX in exhaust gas.

The electronic fuel injection type engine is provided with a fuel injector 8. A carburetor 6 is provided in an intake air route from an intake port of a cylinder head 2 to an air cleaner 7. Water is supplied to a float chamber 9 of the carburetor 6 instead of fuel to enable to add moisture to intake air passing through the carburetor 6, and opening of a throttle valve 13 of the carburetor 6 is adjusted by a mechanical governor.
