PURPOSE: To attain ease of switching of normal image pickup and image pickup of high speed mobile body by providing a shutter device before an image pickup plane of a photoelectric converter and picking up an object moving in high speed while rotating the shutter.
CONSTITUTION: In picking up an object moving in high speed, a switch member 7 is thrown to the high speed image pickup mode, a shutter plate 14 is placed in front of the image pickup plane 12a. Then the shutter plate 14 is rotated by conducting a motor and slits 14a, 14b scan the image pickup plane 12a. Thus, a still picture of the mobile body moving in high speed is formed on the image pickup plane 12a and a sharp reproduced picture is obtained. In picking up a normal object, the switch member 7 is thrown to the normal image pickup mode. Then a lever plate 15 is turned counter clockwise to shunt the shutter plate 14 from the incident optical path of the image pickup plane 12a and the image pickup plane 12a is fully opened, then normal image pickup is attained.
