To provide an electronic image recorder capable of easily and inexpensively performing electronic image photography by intuitive setting operation equivalent to that in a silver halide camera, by effectively utilizing hardware possessed by the user of the existent silver halide camera.

The electronic image recorder (electronic image recording unit) 10 is equipped with a cylindrical recorder body 31, a plate-like (or film-like) support part 32 extended from the recorder body 31, an imaging device 33 provided on the camera body 11 side (subject side) of the support part 32, a starting switch 34 provided at the end of the supporting part 32, and an external connection terminal 35 provided on the side of the recorder body 31. Such constitution can be loaded in a film loading part of the silver halide camera 20 (camera body 21).
