Title:
ELECTRONIC IMAGING DEVICE USING ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62106479
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the influence of the afterglow of an electroluminescent (EL) light emission to obtain a light source characteristic of good contrast by applying a driving pulse to an EL element so that enough optical energy to expose a photosensitive medium is given within a certain time prescribed by the printing speed and attenuating sufficiently the output light of the EL element there after.

CONSTITUTION: A timing controller 1, an X-side clock generator 2, an interval control circuit 3, a Y-side clock generator 4, an AND gate 5, an AND gate 6 with inverted input, a shift register 7, a latch circuit 8, an AND gate array 9, an X-side driving circuit 10, and a Y-side driving circuit 11 are provided, and the X-side driving circuit 10 and the Y-side driving circuit 11 drive plural transparent electrodes 122 and rear electrodes 125 of an EL light source panel 12. THus, plural driving pulses are applied to the EL element so that the output optical energy of the EL element is sufficient for exposure of the photosensitive medium per one unit in the moving direction of the photosensitive medium and the afterglow energy in a non-imaging period is sufficiently reduced for non-imaging of the next unit, and the application of driving pulses is stopped immediately after this application so that the output light of the EL element is attenuated to a prescribed level or lower.
