A portable machine 200 transmits a request for the sending of a fuel level from a UHF transmit/receive part 203 when a predetermined operation for displaying the fuel level on an indicator 209 is done to the portable machine 200. When the device 100 on the vehicle side receives the request for the sending of the fuel level during the operation of a fuel level gauge 110, it sends the detected fuel level from a BT communications part 104 once every predetermined time. When the device on the vehicle side receives the request for the sending of the fuel level during the halting of the operation of the fuel level gauge 110, it detects the fuel level after starting the operation of the fuel level gauge, and sends the detected fuel level from the BT communications part 104 once every predetermined time. Then the portable machine 200 displays the fuel level received by a BT communications part 204 once every predetermined time on the indicator 209.
