Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system that suppresses a decrease in convenience even when the battery voltage of an electronic key drops to uncommunicable level.SOLUTION: When the battery voltage of an electronic key 10 drops to uncommunicable level with an on-vehicle device 20, the voltage from a battery 31 is boosted through a boosting circuit 32 with a portable terminal 40 held over the electronic key 10. Consequently, wireless communications (transmission and reception of request signals Sreq1, Sreq2, and a response signal Sres1) with the on-vehicle device 20 are enabled again through the electronic key 10. Consequently, even when the battery voltage of the electronic key 10 drops to uncommunicable level with the on-vehicle device 20, neither emergency vehicle door unlocking means nor emergency engine starting means needs to be used, so a decrease in convenience due to a drop in battery voltage can be suppressed.
