Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system that prevents inappropriate challenge response authentication caused by side channel attack.SOLUTION: An electronic key system enables vehicle control based on successful challenge response authentication between the electronic key and the vehicle. With the electronic key system, the vehicle creates beforehand a plurality of pairs of a challenge C and a response R encrypted by an encryption key of the challenge C, stores in memory the plurality of pairs of the challenge C and the response R, transmits the challenge C stored in memory at the same time reading out the response R paired with the challenge C, transmits the response R encrypted by the encryption key of the electronic key that received the challenge C transmitted from the vehicle, and the vehicle determines the challenge response authentication to be successful when the response R stored in memory of the vehicle coincides with the response R transmitted by the electronic key.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
